“The van had six occupants, four of whom killed,” Police Area Commander Inspector David Gaskin told the media. According to him, the passengers in the vehicle were a group of adults who had traveled to the region from the North Island.
Three individuals died at the spot, he said, while a fourth died after being transferred to Christchurch Hospital. Another individual has One person who suffered critical injuries, while another is in critical condition. The truck driver was not critically injured in the collision.
